Tottenham are reportedly on the hunt for a new goalkeeper, and the latest update claims they are eyeing Burnley starlet Nick Pope.
What’s the story?
According to The Mirror, Tottenham are plotting a “keeper reshuffle” this summer, a reshuffle that would include bringing Burnley’s Pope to North London.
Hugo Lloris is taking loads of stick for his recent performances, as time and time again the Frenchman’s lapses of concentration have cost Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
There’s no question the World Cup winner is an elite shot-stopper, but his poor decision making is beginning to infuriate fans, and Pope would immediately compete for that number one spot.
Michel Vorm’s contract expires next summer, so Spurs would have Lloris, Pope and the impressive Paulo Gazzaniga all vying for the shirt.

Would he be a good signing?
There aren’t many teams in the league that can boast three truly top class goalkeepers, but replacing Vorm with Pope would put Tottenham in that bracket.
The 26-year-old deserved his spot in England’s World Cup squad after a fabulous season at Turf Moor, but has missed the start of this season after dislocating his shoulder in a Europa League qualifier.

Pope averaged 2.73 saves per goal conceded last season, considerably more than Lloris who averaged 2.18.
One area the youngster would need to improve to fit in at Spurs would be his distribution. He boasted a distribution accuracy of just 57 per cent last season, although this is of course partly down to Burnley’s reluctance to play short passes out of the back.
Pope may not kick Lloris out of the starting spot, but signing the Englishman would be a huge upgrade and Vorm, and both he and Gazzaniga have the potential to be the future number one when 31-year-old Lloris eventually leaves.
