When Liverpool are mentioned at the moment, the players that tend to be spoken of are either members of the front three or Virgil van Dijk’s colossal performances at the back.
Mohamed Salah has been making headlines for his below par displays so far this season, while Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane have had similar treatment, although not as severe.
One man who has been going under the radar somewhat is Georginio Wijnaldum, who has been a key part of Liverpool’s midfield.
The Dutchman, who is valued at £36m by Transfermarkt, has started all eight of the Reds’ Premier League fixtures.
The midfielder has played the full 90 minutes in each fixture bar one and he has been positioned alongside James Milner, Naby Keita or Jordan Henderson.
Wijnaldum was inconsistent last season and there were questions over where he belonged in the team, but at the moment it looks as though his place in the first XI is safe.
Does the midfielder get enough credit, though?
