da cassino online: Writing in his column for The Daily Record, Rangers legend Barry Ferguson has called into question the club’s decision not to sell Alfredo Morelos during the January transfer window.
What’s the story?
da betsul: The Colombian forward was reported to be the subject of a significant bid from a Chinese Super League side in the final days of January but has stayed at Ibrox for the time being after the club rejected the notion of him leaving for the money offered.
However, a former Rangers hero believes they’ve made a mistake.
Barry Ferguson believes the offer, if made as reported, was too good to turn down.
Writing for The Daily Record, the former Light Blues captain said:
If the sort of money being bandied about in terms of transfer fees and wages is close to being accurate then Rangers must be mental not to do the deal. The last we were told it was around £7.5m. All paid up front. And with wages of more than £60,000 a week for the player. I find those numbers incredible. And I find it difficult to understand why Rangers turned them down. In fact I’m simply not having it.
Strong words there Ferguson and perhaps worth considering for Rangers, with the Chinese transfer window still not shut and a summer window ahead.
Should they sell?
Morelos’ contribution of 13 goals has been key to Rangers this season and he’s set to end the current campaign as the club’s top scorer if he stays.
In fact, he leads the way in the Scottish Premiership too, topping the scoring charts ahead of players like Scott Sinclair, Kris Boyd and Leigh Griffiths.
However, Barry Ferguson is right, the reported £8m is far too much money for Rangers to turn down right now and could be the kind of cash that takes their transfer ambitions to the next level, if it was allowed to be re-invested right back into the side.
Part of the battle in the transfer market is knowing to sell a player at the peak of his value and he’s unlikely to be worth much more during his time at Rangers, so surely it’s best to take the money?
