da bet vitoria: According to reports in the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to smash their wage ceiling and hand striker Harry Kane a new £200,000-a-week deal, amid interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid.
What’s the word, then?
da bet7: Well, the Daily Mail says that Spurs face splashing out on a £200,000-a-week deal after it was revealed that Kane was only the 35th best paid player in the English top flight on his current £110,000-a-week deal.
The Daily Mail says that the striker’s 56-goal haul in 2017 – as well as interest from Real Madrid – will force Spurs to offer the 24-year-old a huge increase in his wages that will break their previously stringent stance on player wages.
How has Kane done this season?
He has, once again, been outstanding.
The striker has scored 24 goals in 25 matches and was the top goalscorer in European football during 2017 – seeing off competition from the likes of Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Robert Lewandowski.
The 24-year-old continues to find the net on a regular basis for Spurs and is undoubtedly their talisman, and it is no surprise that the north London outfit are preparing a bumper new deal.
Does he deserve a £200,000-a-week deal?
He certainly does.
Kane literally just can’t stop scoring and there seems little doubt that if he stays in the Premier League during his whole career and maintains his fitness, he will beat Alan Shearer’s record of 260 goals since the inauguration of the competition in 1992 having already netted 96.
Will he sign it?
He probably will, yes.
While Kane will perhaps have ambitions to play abroad and win lots of trophies during his playing career, for now it seems as though himself and Tottenham are the perfect fit, and he is likely to stay until at least the end of next season.
If Spurs still aren’t challenging for anything then he may begin to consider his future, but for now he will want to carry on scoring goals for his club.
