Jason Roberts has hailed the way his Blackburn outfit responded to their 7-1 embarrassment against Manchester United by beating Wolves on Saturday.
The Rovers striker admitted that the players were hugely disappointed by the battering at Old Trafford just over a week ago, given that he felt they gave up too easily during the onslaught from the Red Devils.
However, following a 3-0 win against Wolves at Ewood Park on Saturday, Roberts was delighted at the way the side bounced back from adversity.
Roberts said:"What happened at Old Trafford hurt us. The manner in which we lost was really disappointing.
"We shouldn't have been throwing the towel in like that.
"We sensed going into the Wolves game that it was a huge match for us. The feeling within the squad was we had to win this one."
He added:"We're on a great run and I don't think our character has ever been in doubt.
"We have weaknesses but our character isn't one of them. This week we've shown what we're about."
Blackburn will now be hoping to put a run together, starting against local rivals Bolton Wanderers on Sunday.Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
