da 888casino: Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has flown to Holland to meet with Ajax in a bid to seal the signature of star defender Jan Vertonghen, according to The Daily Mail.
The north London club are keen to restrengthen this summer, and have identified the Belgium international as a possible new face at White Hart Lane.
The talented centre back is out of contract next summer, and has expressed his desire to move to a bigger club, with Arsenal also said to be interested.
However, Levy is believed to have met with the Eredivisie champions and Vertonghen on Monday, with a move still on the cards.
Meanwhile, Spurs are also eager to make Emmanuel Adebayor’s move to Tottenham permanent, after the striker’s loan spell at the club finished.
The African marksman spent a year with Harry Redknapp’s men, but has returned to parent club Manchester City after the end of the Premier League campaign.
Adebayor’s wages in 2011-12 were shared between Tottenham and the Premier League champions, and as such Spurs are having problems meeting the Togolese forward’s salary.
Despite this, Adebayor has revealed that he is eager to move to White Hart Lane on a permanent basis.
“Loved my spell at Tottenham. We are working hard with the chairman to make it permanent,” he told his Twitter followers.
